भारतीय नौसेना ने सोमालिया के तट के पास समुद्री लुटेरों के कब्जे में पहुंचे ईरान के मछली पकड़ने वाले जहाज 'अजिनी' को मुक्त करा लिया है। इस अभियान में जहाज पर सवार सभी 20 ईरानी चालक दल के सदस्यों को सुरक्षित बचा लिया गया। ऑपरेशन में भारतीय वायुसेना ने भी अहम भूमिका निभाई। करीब 48 घंटे तक चले इस अभियान में किसी के हताहत होने या घायल होने की खबर नहीं है। भारत की इस कार्रवाई के बाद ईरान ने आभार जताते हुए भारतीय नौसेना और वायुसेना के साहस, पेशेवर रवैये और आपसी तालमेल की सराहना की है। The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in New Delhi expresses its sincere appreciation to the Government of India, the Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force for their successful operation to rescue the 20 Iranian crew members of the fishing vessel Azini from pirates.
